“ My mom, 2 sisters, and I stumbled across this super cute place. Our feet were so tired from visiting the deer and temple - so we wanted to rest and grab a bite to eat. We loved the cozy vibe from this family business. My sisters and mom got the yummy ginger tea - they LOVED it. And I got the matcha tea. They customized it for me because they typically serve it with espresso and chocolate. I normally ask for oat milk because I cannot handle dairy, but they didn’t have that option. So I went “screw it”, and ordered it anyways. It was so good and no tummy problems. lol. We got the waffles and French toast with ice cream. Yummmm!!! Server was very nice and friendly. Please note: at the time we visited, cash only. P.S. it’s so easy to miss this hole in the wall, please look for this entry way!! ”
“ 2025/06/06 Comfy and peaceful spot in Higashimuki shopping street. My friend and I were able to recharge here after walking all morning in Nara Park. It's easy to miss their entrance since it's a tight hallway leading to a dimly-lit resto, but their meal sets are worth a try. I got the Buddha bowl they offered during lunchtime. They have English descriptions of the food and some of the staff-san can reply in English, so tourists can order no problem. Please also be mindful of your voice here. It's a small space, so quiet conversation is appreciated~ ”
“ Chanced upon this cafe after a long walk around Nara Park & visiting temples. The cafe was tucked away in a small alley along Higashimuki Shopping St, just a 2-3minutes walk from the train station. I ordered a glass of Iced Salted Earl Grey Cafe Latte and was pleasantly surprised by how well the coffee & earl grey tea blended so well, topped with a generous amount of fresh heavy whipped cream (if I’m not mistaken) and sprinkled lightly with some salt. I thoroughly enjoyed the drink and I found the place to be very cosy for one to chill and recharge before continuing their journey. :) To add on, this place has a small little leather/silver wear & jewelry/lifestyle goods shop on the second floor, called TEEPE. Every piece in this little gem were handmade by the talented owner, (Ms) Hoji-San. I would most certainly return to Nara, just to revisit this charming shop and cafe in the future. “ We stumbled upon this restaurant when looking for somewhere to grab a bite on our way home from Nara park and were pleasantly surprised by what we got. The food was absolutely delicious and the deserts were so creative and mouth-watering that I'm contemplating going back to Nara again just to try something else from the menu. The restaurant is a bit hard to find if you aren't looking for it, since it's crammed in-between two other stores, but it offers a cozy atmosphere and good service (although in Japan that's a rare thing not to find). It's also a good place for tourists as they have a well translated menu and a variety of foods both Japanese and European in origin. Cannot recommend this place enough. ”
“ Such a wonderful cafe. Hidden within a small doorway it opens into a chilled and relaxing atmosphere. The food is a Japanese twist on a western theme such as the California Beef Bowl or Avocado Taco, both which were delicious. There were all these little free extras such as a side of roasted pumpkin, miso soup and a small slice of cheese cake. If you are in Nara and need a bite then highly recommend. ”
